Default Is dashboard compatible?

I am new to the Jaguar brand. I recently purchased a 96 XJ Vanden Plas for a small restoration project. Where can I find out if an earlier year dashboard is compatible with my year?

Thank you so much for your time.

If your car is an early X300, I think the dashboard was the same as the last year of the previous model, the XJ40, (the squared-off style car). Most of the middle of the car was identical, with curvaceous panels added front and rear, and the engine developed from the AJ-6 to the AJ-16.

However, others probably know more than me, so suggest you post in the X300 forum.

The problem is that the early X300 had a passenger airbag without the glovebox. Make sure the facias are the same (with or without glovebox)

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I think I'm going to work with the dash I have. Too many questions to make a transaction like this one long distance as it wasn't a local parts recycler.

Thanks again.
