There is a TSB or something on drilling off the bearing retainer from I think the X308 , Do you have it ?

the bolts that you remove on the X is different then the standard Torque Bit

What do you mean by clicking from diff? I cant think of anything that would 'click' in there. Plenty things that could at the back though.
Removing diff is relatively easy and best 'special tool' is going to be a second pair of hands to hold the awkward and heavy bits.
1. Take the A-frame side brackets off
2. With the diff slightly down, you'll now have access to bolts holding diff struts to aframe(next to big aframe bush). They are probably worst thing to remove, easier if you have flexible ratchet wrench.
3. Remove calipers
4. Remove big nuts holding up hubs and bottom fulcrum bolts
5. Remove a-frame(4 bolts at the bottom and 4 at the front) and springs with shocks
6. Undo wishbone tie off the diff and wishbones and remove both wishbones with the tie together.
7. Undo rear diff struts, that the last thing holding it up to the back
8. Undo propshaft at jurid coupling and it will drop down.

While there, I highly recommend replacing shocks and springs, replace wishbone tie with the one with extra brackets for rear anti roll bar and replace rear individual diff struts with X308 differential monobrace. Obviously replace all suspect bushes, change diff oil and jurid coupling, fulcrum bearings and check all u-joints.

X308 differential monobrace , not hard to remove from donor X308

You can make your own tool to suck the old bushing out

Clean differential case breather port

Looking for Bearing retainer drill holes and split with a chisel TSB

Any visuals for this ?

just drop the whole suspension assembly, takes 30 minutes. when you have it on the ground it's pretty self explanatory

your problem could be coming from the output shafts, the kit is like 60 bucks a side.https://www.sngbarratt.com/English/#...put%20shaft%60

That is the specific kit for the specific target of the output shafts

Hopefully the bearing item is of high quality

The u-joints have grease fittings. I would grease those first and road test before removing differential. Greasing the splines at the outer hubs can eliminate noises also.

110% agree with Larry. With the mileage shown on your car, I would very much doubt the diff has a problem, unless there is oil everywhere at your back end. The U Js on the halfshafts on the other hand are often neglected, and are fairly easily greased. Most definitely your first move.

Will be greasing the fitting tonight after work. Still don’t see any reason the rear passenger sits lower than the rest of the car.
