Default Door lock cycling, random alarms. Door switch?

Hello,

Currently have issues with door locks cycling when operating the keyfob, as well as the alarm rsndomly tripping when the car is locked. The other day whilst I was driving I could hear a relay style ticking in some of the doors. I'm guessing my drivers side door microswitch is failing?

Many thanks

Lots of potential triggers for the alarm then!

If you mean that the door locks cycle several times when you use the fob: If any of the door lock pegs is "springy" you will get cycling. All of the pegs must be able to be pushed down (and pulled up) by hand, without springing back. If they spring back, it is a mechanical issue with the latch pivots. They get dirty and sticky. Sometimes only one latch is the problem.

If this is the case then all 4 door locks will cycle together as the system tries to keep them synchronized and to stay in the desired state. Usually it stops after 3 cycles, sometimes leaving the bad latch unlocked (or locked).

Ah, so it's trying to correct a fault when it does that then. I had the door lock cycling for maybe 6 weeks then it disappeared for the most part and the random alarms started.

I've ordered a door switch anyway as its the typical culprit and il see if there are any obvious broken or sticking parts.

May have found the issue, not the door actuator, but plenty of water and corrosion in the drivers door wiring loom! Wonder how it got there... door drain hole clogged maybe?

Thanks Parker for that connector link, will have to look at that if problem reoccurs. Another thing, in the 2nd picture I posted of the corroded connector, the bottom middle slot, isn't there supposed to eb a pin there? It looks like it's corroded and snapped off?

It's referred to as a 13 way connector and has 13 pin positions

the space odyssey movie monolith acts as a orientation key way
