Default ECU repair - 1995 XJR6

Is there a source for replacement ECU connectors? The ones that are attached to the circuit board, not the wiring harness side.

The #18 pin in the black plug is broken on the ECU for my '95 XJR6 and it looks like replacing that whole plug is the best option. Otherwise, the ECU is basically immaculate.

I grabbed an ECU from a junkyard '95 XJ6 and could use the connector on it, but I'd feel bad about destroying a functional ECU, since they are prone to water damage. I'd rather buy a replacement plug if it was available.

So are they available anywhere? I did some searching but had no luck.

The connector is a right angle pcb Multilock 070.
Search for Multilock 070 pcb connector.

I would transfer the EPROMS from your ECM to the replacement ECM and install it in your car.

I think all the bare ECMs are pretty much the same it is just the EPROMS that make the part numbers and fitment different?

Thanks, but that one doesn't look right. These don't have the internal clip like that. Where did you find that info? I'm pretty sure there's at least one plug that looks like that, but not on the ECU.

Searching for that one did lead me to the Econoseal ES3.WTB-36P, which is the right one. I have to show some love to corsa-technic.com. I called them and the girl pulled one off the shelf and took measurements to verify that.

Thanks again for pointing me on the right path.

I'm completely unfamiliar with all of that. It sounds plausible, but I found a replacement connector for <$20 shipped, so I'm going to go that route.

Glad that you found the right plug.
The econoseal range of connectors is widely used on the X300.
The information on connectors is from the electrical section introduction in the X300 manual which is available in the downloads area..
