hi everyone.... I own a 1996 XJ6, and my car "ONLY" shakes in park. When I open the hood, I can see the engine shaking causeing the car to shake. But I cannot figure out why, because I had my engine mounts done about a year ago, anyone else know what it can be? Thank for your help.....

 

Fairly common problem. Mine does the same in "P". Drop it into "D" and it runs smooth.

You probably have an injector that isn't responding to minimal pulse rate command.

At idle in "P" there is very little load on the engine and the injectors are commanded to stay open for a very short period, or short "pulse width". Sometimes an injector doesn't respond to a low command and just stops working.

Regarding the short 'pulse width' ....... does that mean an injector is faulty or the ecu needs checking?
How do i rectify the problem?
Im having similar issues with my x300.

Injector faulty. A good shop can identify with injector isn't doing the job. As far as I know the only choice is to replace the injector...I don't think it's a repairable fault.
