Exhaust new or maybe better
Hi all , been saving for monthes to replace the exhaust on my 95 xj6 base with a 3.2. I found a local shop that is pretty talented and reasonable. Id like to ask a couple questions for those of you who have been down this road.....
Any recommendations as far as parts to avoid or parts that offer great value?
Any “kits” , a complete ready to install package, ive looked and not really found any.
Lastly , I’d like a little more voice, a quiet rumble so to speak, I’m not interested in a load voice but she has always been almost silent so I think I’d like to hear that engin I’ve worked so hard on. So any recommendations in that arena.
As always thanks to one and all I’d never be this far along with out all your help
Happy motoring Scot

Having spent $1500 NZD this year on half an exhaust, I then read somewhere about an XJ sports exhaust ready-made in UK for about £1000. Can’t recall the brand but someone will tell us. Shipping to NZ (and perhaps Indiana) would have been prohibitive and Im now happy.
But perhaps a proven ‘kit’ might be better than reinventing the wheel/exhaust

Jaguar X300 XJ XJ6 and XJR Mina Gallery Performance Exhaust System - Mina Gallery Inc
https://www.jaguarclassicparts.com/u...-3-2-4-0-litre
Is the Supercharged and N/A engine have the same downpipe flange size ?
EGR is not found on all models and air injection probably refers to smog pump .
The LWB X300 is 6 inches longer overall then the SWB model and the difference if I remember correctly is on the fwd downpipe . So have them fabricated for the LWB and cutoff the extra during installation .
The way to tell LWB or SWB is the length of the rear door window on the bottom edge .

Some things to consider are : tone , shipping cost ( Mina location ? ) , the need for the mid catalytic converter other then the fwd cats ( US models have them but local sniff test may not require them ) , can you have one fabricated at a shop as the final muffler can be had from Mina . I haven't tweaked my exhaust but just throwing some options out there .
