Default Expensive bulbs

Does anyone know where to get those small bulbs in the climate control panel and clock. I understand they are called T4 and T5, and I need them in green. All suppliers are pricey and I don't wish to go the LED route. They seem to have different color bases. Does that denote different wattages or what? There must be a supplier out there for a few bucks a piece.

For our XJ40, I couldn't find bulbs with the exact plastic bases except through Jaguar for $12-$15 per bulb, so I just reused the plastic bases and replaced the bulbs themselves with small "grain o' wheat" bulbs purchased for $1 each or less from:

You'll have to do your research and some size calculation. Some owners have found ways of coloring clear bulbs for the green, orange or blue color they desired. Note that 14V bulbs will not be as bright as 12V bulbs.

When I later found an entire instrument cluster for $40 on eBay I snatched it up, thinking that at the very least I had acquired a full complement of replacement bulbs. You might look for a replacement climate panel at a low price.

Cheers,

Don
