hi all, i want to fit a rear cigarette lighter in the car. awhile back i replaced the rear air vent and noticed two spare plugs in the tunnel,one round and one square i think. would one of these be for the lighter if so which one and what would the other one be for? thanks.

 

They are both for the rear lighter, the single wired plug being only for the illumination. The two wire plug can only go one way onto the back of the socket. Very straightforward connections.

 

hi, thanks for that. i will be fitting a after market one so the plug with the 2 wires would be 1 earth and 1 power? if so which is which? thanks rob.

 

The X300 cigarette lighter is apparently a odd size and I read reports of chargers not fitting properly

For a 95 the wiring diagram for the aft lighter is on page 181

The power for the lighter is the Orange / Brown wire ..The ground wire being the Black

On page 115 is the lighting

Red / Pink is the lighting power , Black is the ground

If I remember right there is only 2 wires in the area but I can ge wrong

 

A little late coming back, but the factory fit rear cigar lighter should be available on the used market. All thats needed is the socket and wood trim.
