Hi Sogood

Just to report the bumper is now reinstalled and does not look too bad..... It's a huge improvement.. I still have to do the final finish painting but I will wait till the weather clears up.

In the meantime is there any chance you might share with me details of the paint type you used. I'm attaching some pics of the process I used in doing the repair.

Again thanks for all your help, guidance and encouragement... to tackle the project

Well done, great job and glad to have helped. As for the paint, an exact match will be found by identifying the actual Jaguar colour, using the colour code, found on a sticker on the upper radiator mount. Take the code and refer to the colour code chart, posted on here in the forum. As mentioned, paint will fade over time and so an exact match with "original" colour might be difficult. I don't know how much white might fade or discolour, but fortunately, your repair is a little out of way and not so obvious.

Talk to your local auto parts/motor factors for the best approach is all I can suggest. Sometimes a bit of trial and error. After applying a couple of light coats of clear lacquer, leave it for a couple of days, again to harden, and buff it off to a smooth finish.

Keep up the good work!
