Default Front bumper removal, stuck

Hi,

I have tried to remove the front bumper today, without succes

Couldnt find something about it in the workshop manual, so I checked the forum for a how-to.

I removed the bumper from a x305 before.
Just as the how-to describes and worked for me on the x305, I tried today on a x300 without succes.

I removed the shield underneath, removed the end of the air ducts so they are hanging free on the bumper, I unbolted the 2x 19mm bolts up front.

There is some play, but its stuck somewhere still.
I do not want to break anything.

What am I missing?

yeah , it must be stuck on the bolt locators.

Any tips on how to approach this?

Would a spray of some lube oil be sufficient? Or do i need to lift it up maybe and then slide out.

I haven't done it myself but may be referring to a through bushing . Dissimilar metal corrosion problem . There was a good post and pics on the rear as I think they are the same . Below is a pic of the non shock absorbing hardware setup and the absorbing setup is different . Links :

The bolts came out without any problems, no corrosion on them either.

Thank you for supplying some links, I had found the same.

I read this thread, they mention something about "liners" in the last post.

I am not sure about what liners are they talking about.

Liners might be referring to through bushings or spacers as item # 2

Or it could be slip in guides to hold the bumper shell in place on the sides . Looking now .

Yes it does on the very back on both sides , may be stuck

Mission succes!

It was stuck on the bolt locators, with some lube and patience it came finally off.

The two mounts up front. There is this spacer that needs to come out before you can push it off the mounts. Both of them were completely stuck in the mounts.

no.2 in the drawing.

I installed the power washers today.

I cleaned my old set before installing the x308 headlights.

That makes a big difference too! The right set is cleaned.

How easy was the re-wiring for the 308 lights? Did you follow the Jim Butterworth article?

I was in luck and pulled the x308 headlights from a x300.
So the cables were already fixed for me ;-)

But it seems a simple job.
