Default Front Crank seal distance piece

So i am looking at what appears to be a front crankseal leak.
so i have ordered a front crankseal no problem.
but found that there is a seal runner that sits over the crank.
basically a metal ring

EAC2464 Distance Piece

apparently this ring wears and after 360000km is probably overdue for a change.
the issue is that this part is NLA and i can’t seem to get my hands on one anywhere.
if i don’t change it i hear the leak will likely just happen again,
no i have heard it can be turned around possibly,
other options is take it off, send it off to a machine shop and get it remade or resurfaced.

anyone got any luck finding one of these?

G'day Spud,

If you can't track down the distance piece you might be able to try this,

Cheers,
Jeff.

Possibly an option.
i just find it really strange that jag make the crank seal and distance piece as seperate components and then also that nobody makes the distance piece as really it is needed when changing the seal.
illogical if you ask me

G'day Spud,

You could also try this mob, I got a seal and distance piece from them a while ago.

If they dont have the part listed give them a call as they sometimes stock items which are not listed on their website.

Cheers,
Jeff.

Hello Spud, Easy solution, Clean the distance piece, Then put it in reversed so the seal rides on a new area.

Thank you.

Ignorance is bliss, I guess. I changed the front crank seal on my 95 several years ago when the damper was out for rebuild. Neither saw nor knew about any distance piece. Hasn't leaked. Car has 270k on it now, can't recall how many miles when I changed the damper/crank seal, but it is documented in here somewhere, but in any case, I'm sure it was at least 100k miles ago.
