Looking to likely to replace/upgrade my front shocks and springs in the near future.
question is.
what is the best wat to go?
I have seen a lot of mention for bilsteins as far as shocks go, but no mention as far as springs go.
supplier and part numbers would be great. esp here in AUS
from what i can tell part numbers are the same as xj40? are they also same as x308?
what I do notice is it seems there is a slight sag in the ride height of my cat and I get a slight rubbing on the front right which I do not get on the front left.
i suppose also it would be worth checking/replacing upper/lower control arms & tie rods.
what is the best course of action for all the suspension bushes and rubbers?
i have heard urethane can be too harsh on ride comfort?
once again suppliers and part numbers would be great.

Bilsteins were factory fit, with Jaguar using several variations. Some might still be available thru Jaguar.
Via the non-factory pipelines it appears the Bilstein offerings come down to just two choices, the softer B4 series and the firmer B6 series.
The is a large amount of interchangeability with X308 and XJ40 shocks, if you eliminate to self-leveling and automatic adjusting types often used on those cars

If your springs are badly sagging, or broken, then you don't have much choice but to replace them.
On the older older model Jags spring replacement is often very problematic. Many owners avoid replacing them when possible. Very often the replacement springs yield incorrect ride height. Not sure if you're likely to encounter the same problem with X300 replacement springs. Others will chime in.
I just got H&R lowering springs but they seem like stock equivalents for XJR6. At least up front, never tested the rears. I got mine here from urotuning.com. But do be aware they're probably a special order, mine were significantly delayed but did actually arrive. I thought they'd just cancel the order but hey, they actually shipped out!

yeah i saw that kit online from simpleperformancejaguar on ebay.
but at AU$1600 + AU$800 shipping, i don't think so.... unless there was no better option. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/224398208312
although, i might be looking at AU$1500 all round for shocks from local suppliers anyway......
and then still need springs......
Replacing the front springs safely really requires the special spring compressor tool. There are videos showing a method using screwed rod, but the tension involved is of biblical proportions, and it is not for the feint hearted. Expect a struggle with some of the spring pan bolts too, so have a few new ones to hand.
when I eventually got mine off, I discovered a break at the very end of one spring which was obscured by the spring pan in situ, but probably accounted for the slight lopsidedness. The new springs ( different rating for my XJR) restored the original from factory stance, which makes the car look very purposeful, so a job worth doing.
Note that yours was the supercharged version and maybe different spring part #
Yeah, to clarify, I wanted to go lower than an XJR6, and the H&R springs I got where about equivalent to the stock XJR6, which is lower than "plain" XJ6.
If you do use the threaded rod method make sure to get good grade 8 or grade 10.9 kit. I found that often the spring plate would bind up in some spots or be loose in others, often putting the force on mostly one nut. There's a good 5-6 inches of preload on each front spring, too, so it takes forever.
I don't see an MNA2140AA in the Jaguar catalog. Sometimes the numbers change.
MMD2140AC is 4.0 comfort suspension
From years ago I recall Jaguar showing more listings. For example, different numbers for German, North American, and ROW XJR/6s. They've consolidated the listings ow.
Sachs are good quality although I'm not aware of them being performance - oriented
