Default Hand brake grip removal

As you can see my grip is toast. How is it removed and what options are there for a replacement?

Was going to reply 'not available separately' expecting it to be moulded to the lever but thought I'd check the Parts Manual first:

JAGUAR X300 - Handbrake Assembly.pdf

Available in plain rubber for the base models and other colour options for the higher spec.

The drawing suggests brute force is probably the removal method!

WOW, the dealer wants $155 for this thing. I'm gonna try to recover it myself before I pony up for a part that I never use.

Don't know where they dream up some of these prices.

A complete handbrake lever has got to be available from breakers for a few $$.

Yes, you are correct as usual. I bought a coffee colored grip off Ebay, dyed it LEG. With massive brute force it was removed and installed. Many, many thanks.

Result.

Thought it looked like a brute force job.

They must have a more technical way to assemble these things in the factory........I would hope!
