This morning, I tried opening the glovebox and it won't open. I used the key to make sure it was unlocked. I can feel the key work in the lock but the handle won't work. It lifts up a bit but won't unlatch and I am afraid of using any more pressure or it may break. I've had the car for abotu 6 months and it never was EASY to open but always did open before.

Is this a common problem? Any suggestions on getting it opened? Thanks.

 

Wish I could help but my early 1995MY did not come with a glove box as apparently it took a few months for Jaguar to figure out how to make it fit while using an airbag

Tim managed to open locked up glove box, although he did it on the bench. I guess you can always send him PM

oh, I can't remember, but I did it under the handle. So, it can be opened from the outside. Gimme a while to figure it out again. I know the latch mechanism came apart and needed put back together. And, nothing broke. I got the glovebox used, so I have no key. I disabled the lock while it was apart.

 

but you haven't fitted it yet, have you?
