Post Homelink System

I cannot figure out how to program the HomeLink system in my Jag. I have the manual and everything, but I have one of the newer garage doors where you need to press a button on the garage door center console itself which sends out a signal for 30 seconds and then u hold down the buttons in your car. We did it with my dads Maxima, but we're having trouble with the Jag. Anybody else have to do the same thing?

The home link won't program on my Jag, either, since I installed a new GDO with "rolling codes". Worked fine with the older analog (or whatever it was) technology.

Not sure if this is helpful, or even related to your situation.

Others will chime in

Cheers

Doug is correct, most of the more recent, newer garage door systems will not work with the jag "Homelink system", since the newer ones have those "rolling" garage door codes. both of my garage doors work perfectly with my father's 98 lexus LS400, but both door openers refuse to work with my XJ6. technology just jumped ahead of me,or us rather, is all.

Heh heh....seems a little embarrassing that our wonderful Jags have been outwitted by a silly garage door opener. :-)

But, then again, I have owned mostly much older cars so my '95 Jag is "modern" in my mind. I forget that it is 15 years old.
