I recently purchased a 1996 XJ6. I have set the alarm off several times by accident, it's apparently very sensitive. My question is, once the alarm starts sounding, how long before it shuts off? My cat seems to love my car and jumps on it every night, causing the alarm to sound. I hear it and shut if off with the key, but I'm concerned the battery will die if it continues to sound. I assume it resets itself after a few min., but I would really like to know for sure.

Any help would be appreciated. =)

 

It will probably run for a good 5-10 minutes..My alarm would randomly go off any time for a month. It happened when i started using 2 different Key Fob's..That alarm is so obnoxious its crazy.

 

I agree SRL, the alarm is obnoxious. I wish I could lock the doors without arming the alarm. Thanks for your response. ;-)
