How many people use their x300 for everyday use?

While I try to baby it as much as possible, I usually drive my 96 VDP around at least 3 times a week, usually more. It's got a style and presence that you just can't match from any other car - save perhaps another XJ =D
While its good to know the statistics of your vehicle, and its important to know what it can do, honestly, if your concerned with performance, massive top speeds, fuel economy, etc. A Jaguar, particularly an older one, really isn't for you - it's a car you own with your heart. Yes they are often fast, have impressive top speeds, and don't eat up the fuel like you might think, in all honesty, driving one of these cars, you just don't care. Your surrounded by this excellent leather and wood cocoon, and you just feel happy. You feel both relaxed and confident - and while you can get your Kitty to misbehave, its a very civilized driving experience. A proper Jag will impress and excite you on a twisty bit of road, but on a highway cruise it will ease the burden of driving.
And to boot, most people seem to really appreciate seeing it - I've lost count of how many people smile and wave at me when I drive mine. Jaguars are very much like the big cat that they are named after - while most people go out and buy a dog for a pet, they can't help think how cool it would be to own a Big Cat. And when they see that person who has one, they can't help but smile.
My two cents anyway =)

Howdy folks. New owner here, although it sounds like my dad was part of this forum or at least perused it. Currently the inheritor/owner of a 1997 XJR6 (Please don't be too hard on me about technicals, I just got the car a few weeks ago and am ah, learning as I go.) Currently it is my daily driver, but as winter gets closer I'll probably be looking to sell it as I don't really want to put her through a Colorado winter. Only photos I have so far, went to wash it and ran into another oddball inline 6 who came over to talk to me about the Jag.

Colour me intrigued. Do you have a part number for the intercooler pump? I'll look for the pulley today. I would like a little more but not sure if I want...even less gas mileage.
