How to replace the rear bumper on a X300?
I've had the rear bumper off my X300 multiple times recently to mend cracks, paint it, add rear parking sensors and replace a broken/seized bracket.
I line one side up on the side and rear brackets so it holds up then simply slide the other side into that side bracket. Push the bumper fully home and stick a screwdriver through the bolt holes to line it up before inserting the bolts or you could be fiddling for a while. Good idea to copperslip the threads due to the corrosion issues.

I've looked at the X308 parking sensors and module, and it appears that it would generally be a drop in affair other than mounting the sensors themselves in the bumper.
.
al, I am in the process of putting in after market sensors so not sure if that is helpful or not. These are drill and fit within the bumper.
Just for info though, on the X300 the rubber grommets to get the wires from the sensors back into the car are already in the metal underpanel very near the rear light clusters before anyone goes unnecessarily drilling the boot floor!

Thanks to all of you for your quick responses.
I was able to refit the rear bumper back into place without any issues.
Even figured how to reinstall the plastic shields, or stone guards, located on both sides, at the end of the bumper closest to the rear tires.
The reinstallation of the rear bumper was a "treat" compared to installing the front bumper which was my project for the next day. All those darn electrical pigtails.
I removed both bumpers, stripped off the lamps and chrome for a respray as the Jaguar Concour judges were wacking me for scratches and dings.
Concours and golf....one is always buying something to reduce points and strokes.
