Default How to tell if you have Sportspack suspension?

If you have the S/N switch, does that imply your car has Sportspack suspension?

No.

Having the rear anti-roll bar would be a tip-off, though

AFAIK the only USA market cars to get the sport suspension were the XJRs

Thanks.
What prompted my question was a reply from a vendor regarding stabilizer bar bushings that did not fit a '97 VDP. Here is their response :

There are actually two different bushings for your vehicle depending if you have the Sportspack Suspension or not. The bushing you ordered is without the Sportspack Suspension so your vehicle must have it. Unfortunately we don't carry the bushing for the Sportspack Suspension.

I have the same situation as Selsoft.

I have a '97 VDP with a non-supercharged inline 6, and does not have a rear sway bar. I do however have the S/N transmission mode switch on the center console. The thing is, I'd just ordered some OEM non-Sportspack front sway bar bushings, but when I went to change them, they were too small. My sway bar diameter measured 7/8" or 22 mm. The non-Sportspack bushings I'd order were 3/4" or 19 mm. Could it be possible that some VDPs have larger sway bars? Does anyone know what diameter is the Sportspack sway bar? As such, if I ordered the Sportspack bushings, will it fit the VDP? Will appreciate if someone can shed some light on this? Thanks.

BTW, Selsoft, PartsGeek.com has the Sportspack bushings - P/N W0133-1633319.

I suspect that the aftermarket vendors/suppliers have things bollixed up. You may have to get the bushings from Jaguar.

The Jaguar parts catalogs make no mention of bar diameter, darn it, not do they call out the VDP as unique with respect to anti-roll bars.

Five different front bars were used

- Six cylinder, normally aspirated, comfort suspension (CAC46517 Bushing)

- Six cylinder, normally aspirated, sport suspension (CCC2806 bushing)

- Six cylinder, supercharged (MNA2102DA bushing)

- V12 comfort suspension (CCC2806 bushing)

- V12 sport suspension (MNA2102FA bushing)

Maybe you can find a dealer (or Jag specialist) with either the CAC46517 or the CCC2806 on the shelf and they can measure the I.D. of the bushing?

Cheers
