Immobiliser programming sequence
Hi, I've got a replacement chip key cut for my 1996 xjr6, is there a sequence I can follow to program the new one in? I've heard a couple different techniques, not sure which one would be applicable for my car

The Security Locking Control module (SLCM) must be programmed to match the transponder chip in the ignition key using dealer level software on vehicles outside of the USA that use this security. Unfortunately there is no simple way to pair the new key to the module.
Andy Stodart is an ex Jaguar engineer on this forum.
He is based in the United Kingdom and I believe that he can modify the ECU to remove the key security.

Good idea.
This would probably work although I am not sure if the security chip could be removed from the original key (if there is one) without damaging it. A solution may be to remove the transponder exciter ring from around the ignition switch and attach it in close proximity to the head of the original key.

Is it possible to disable or bypass altogether?
