Default Lower Radiator hose

Mine is about to go. I saw on ebay that there is an OEM and there is a URO. The OEM is 129 and the URO is about half the price. Anyone have any experience with the non-OEM and whether it is worth purchasing

Phil,

Not that brand.

The Aftermarket I got for mine just had the wrong angle of the dangle for the smaller hoses. Sent it back, got the OE, and straight on.

When the R needed one, OE only, as that sucker is 12 hours minimum labour.

Dont forget the B%$#ard hose from the rear of the pump to the Inlet pipe.

I just replaced mine with the URO hose. Fit wasn't too bad but the angle of the hose that runs to the bottom of the expansion tank seemed to be slightly off. I got it attached without any kinking.
At the same time this octopus hose is out, you can get to the Water Rail Hose NBC2273AB. ($7.50 for a URO; Jaguar $76.00, your choice)
I replaced the big hose by removing the air pump and loosening the air pump bracket -- no intake manifold removal. As usual, when you are working on a Jaguar, some other hoses will break or need replacing:
The two hoses from the expansion tank 5/16 ? to the radiator and to the thermostat housing.will probably break.
The two hoses 1/4" from the Breather Adaptor, sitting on top of the manifold will be rock hard - easy to replace. #8 and #9 in diagram.
The larger hose #4 is still available from URO if desired, about $27.50, but can be replaced anytime.
Time was about 4 hours +

For what it's worth, I used the URO on my XJS (with the AJ16 engine) and it works fine. I haven't found URO to be that bad...it's not Metalastic, but for hoses, I think they're good enough. For suspension, I'd stick to OEM. They're much better than Eurospare parts. That stuff is bad. Usually priced accordingly too.
