New 1995 VDP Owner with Questions
Hello there, I just recently picked up a 1995 Jaguar VDP as my first car. I have had an absolute blast driving it over the past week. I have had a couple questions though and thought this would be the best place to ask!
- I believe I have a loose fan belt that squeals only when I start from a cold start. Would this be something I could change or tighten myself or would it be best for a Jag dealer to do it?
- When I bought the car the trunk opened everything worked great and now my dad was out pressing buttons when he was driving the car and I believe I have it stuck in valet mode and sadly only have the green key.
Also is there any place where I can get a manual for the car without shelling out the cash for it! Been looking all over and can't seem to find one. I would love to learn more about the car to do some work on it but at the moment I haven't a clue about anything other than the make/model!
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks!

That squeal MAY be the belt, OR, the crankshaft damper rubber bit delaminating.
The belt replacement is simple enough in any language. I would do both belts, AND the small idler pulley on the a/c belt at the same time.
The damper, not so, but, not hard, just messy if you are not a competent DIY person.
There is a lot on the "cold start screech" in the archives, with a detailed how to do" included.

Thank you! Also I can just press the button to disarm? I have heard I need the black key and to disarm it. Right now my Trunk won't open that's the only problem I have.
