Default Oil change and now leak

Had my oil changed about a week ago and yesterday noticed that there is oil in both front wheel wells and streaking down the bottom side panels from the wheels backwards. I used a Lube & Screw place that put in 8.5 qts of 20/50. How much oil stays in the engine during a change? I've looked under the car and also had them look under and everything seems dry, save a little grime.

The only place I see wet, new oil is in the wheel arches and streaking back down the car. The wheel arches are only wet from the leading edge and towards the engine about half way. It's a very clean line. No splattering, tires are dry, suspension components seem dry..... ?!

Are you sure this is engine oil you're seeing?

Cheers

Doug has a point. Maybe your condenser mounting bushes have departed and you've somehow magically worn a hole simultaneously on each side of your condenser...does the A/C still work?

It doesn't sound to me like the leak is related to the oil change. Did you have any brake work done recently? I wonder if wheel bearing grease could come flying out if there were no inner grease seals installed.

8.5 quarts is typical for an oil change. Not much is left behind if the filter is changed too. Regardless, I'm sure the shop will take another look underneath to check their work, if that's what you suspect.

It does seem to me to be oil, but I could be mistaken. It's light brown in color and doesn't have much of a smell.

AC still works

Had the brake pads done over a year ago, maybe 2 years ago by a top local Jag specialist.

I haven't taken a wheel off, but from what I can tell the inside of the rim is dry as is the suspension, steering rack, et al.

I'm stumped. I'm going to clean it off tonight and see if it returns.

Are you sure you didn't just drive through something? Sounds awfully odd to be coming from both wells. Nothing on the car I could think of that would show itself out of both wells.
