Guys,

On replacement do you recommend poly bushes then

Or do they make the ride to harsh

Don't know about the Jag, but have used them in my LR and RR's with great success.

Just remember the different grades, Performance, Dynamic, and Comfort.

Why not give them a call. Polybush UK

The trouble here is that Jaguars are so rare, and there are just not a lot of people doing this kind of work on them so there isn't a lot of information out there. XJ are also renowned for having a fantastically smooth ride. You need to decide what you want +/- need.

I've read plenty of stuff saying polybushing makes the ride too harsh/noisy etc but until you actually do the job on your car & drive the car on your local roads, it's very difficult to come to any decent conclusion. Have you decided what bushes you want to or need to replace? Is there a particular problem or dislike you have with the way your car handles? If so, suggestions could be made as to which bushes might be best to polybush.

Tyre pressures can also help dial in or out more responsiveness/harshness.

My main gripe is the state of the roads these days. I can quite literally tell you every bump and pot-hole on my 60 mile round trip comute.

I've replaced some bushes on two of my cars (non Jag) and used polybushes as the replacement. I like them, however, even I can't tell you the full difference they made as I changed to sports springs and shocks on one car and didn't really use the other car until the bushes were in. The steering sharpness of the cars was improved as was body roll but you didn't want to hit pot-holes.

As Translator mentioned, discuss with the manufacturers, think about what you really need and really want, adjust your tyre pressures as per Jaguar guidelines (under the centre armrest) and perhaps replace bushes a set at a time, see how they have changed the car's handling, rather than buying a large batch and doing the whole car.

If I had to recommend polybushes, I'd start with ARB front then rear (if fitted to your car). If you don't have a rear ARB then fit one as I'm sure you can retro fit one to no Sport or XJR models. That for me would be a good starting point. I've mentioned this before, but there is a thread on www.xjr6.com where upper front wishbone bushes have been fitted and there are reviews of it. There will probably be another thread on ARB bushes. (No affiliation)

Oh, they always lasted longer in my comp LR's, just don't know about Jaguars, but I guess that unless you start trialling the Jag it should be a one off investment.

Give them a call, in general people like to have a chat. Costs nothing, and usually gains everything.
