Default To polybush or not?

I've read various things about polybushes, and had success with them on some cars I've had, but I'm wondering if it would ruin the XJRs ride? Anyone had any experiences with polybushes on these cars?

Not on the X300.

I have used them on the "older Jags", with mixed results.

The XJ-S got them on the lower inner arms, upper inner arms, and 2 days later "out they came", toooooo harsh.

I have only used metalastic OE since then in those areas.

I do use them on the sway bar "D" area, and I get NO squeeking, but some do report that noise.

Thanks for that. I think I'll try them in the upper arms - Superflex have a soft compound listed which I'd guess is close to OE spec. I'll report back when they're fitted

At least using them in the upper arms means it isn't too hateful to try something else if you don't like the results.

My own past experience, and the experience of many others, with poly bushings is mixed. IMHO there's just too much labor involved to experiment. In my younger days it was a different story :-)

I'll drink to that!

I will be using the OEM metastic bushes as well when I replace my suspension bushings. At almost 90,000 miles and 20 years I think that project isn't too far in the future...
