Default Post purchase service

Hi there, I'm picking my "new" 20 years old X300 4.0 Sovereign tomorrow and have already booked an indy service to include:

- all fluids and filters including gearbox and diff oil
- new plugs
- OBD diagnosis just in case

I'm on a budget but is there anything else I should be checking as well?

Your expert advice will be highly appreciated.
I include a view to the engine bay, sorry is upside down for no good reason!

Congratulations on the pickup. Engine bay looks clean. Let's see some more pictures of that beauty!

I did everything you mentioned as well as replaced the wheel bearings. I replaced them because I wanted to start fresh. If they are still good I would just have them repacked with new grease. I also changed the thermostat, but that is mainly because I had to replace the radiator and decided to change the thermostat also.

Enjoy your new ride.

The thermostat is a good idea. They have a record of sticking open after a few years.

Gone to check Fritz (the cat) with an specialised indie (he even has one himself) and the veredict is:

You've got a good one mate!!!

Here it goes the service list though,

- change ALL fluid and fiters. Check ac gas too
- replace thermostat and chech waterpump hoses connections
- change trapezoidal bands
- solder tiny crack on exhaust downpipes
- radiator bushes
- clean servodirection pump and put missing boot back
- grease usual points and wheel bearings
- new cam gasket
- check differential leak, put new gasket
- plugs if needed

Hope this list could be of some help to newbies like me.
Let me know if you feel I'm missing something

Check/replace condenser bushes as long as you are doing the radiator. Lowers are likely missing anyway. Flush heater core while you are doing the thermostat.
