Power Steering Hose to Cooler
My power steering return hose to cooler has started to leak red stuff on my 95 XJ6. I replaced the pressure hose several years ago due to leakage and big mess. Now the other hose has started to leak also. So far I have been unable to locate a new replacement. They either are out of stock or they just don't stock that low pressure hose. I looked at Parts Geek, Land Rove Auto Parts, Rock Auto and EBay.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It's available from Jaguar Classic Parts (but not cheap).

I'd try cutting the old ferrule off with an angle grinder and then replace it with a hose clamp that you can tighten. Much better than paying this:

You could also get a hose service place to replace the hose on the old fitting if you don't like the look of a hose clamp

For $41 I would not bother fabricating anything.
The aluminum (or steel) part of the hose is rarely if ever the problem. You can get a repair ferrule and replace the rubber hose part. Any shop that does custom hydraulic hoses can do it for you. When I am too lazy to do it myself I pay short money to have it done.
In the past I have successfully replaced various poorly designed and long discontinued hoses with adapters to AN fittings and AN hoses. In my experience quality AN hoses work better and are more durable than the factory ones. If an off-the-shelf adapter to AN is not available, I make one on a lathe. I requires rudimentary machinist skills at best and even the cheapest, abundantly available hobbyist-level lathe will do the trick.
