Default Power Steering leak

My ‘97 vdp had a small power steering leak but recently it got worse. I took a photo of where it’s coming from. I was hoping maybe a hose but it looks like that’s not the case.

From the bottom of the reservoir where the 2 lines clamp , the hoses distort from the age and leak going everywhere.

Cut an inch off the hoses for new clamp / hose material

If the leak is coming from the steering rack you can do a drain refresh cycle 4 or 5 times to get fresh power steering fluid to rejuvenate the seals

It is a ZF 7852 series but I don't know about the last numbers as someone recently took a pic of their's

I actually added AT-205 leak sealer last week hoping it would help but that’s when it got worse. After reading a couple of threads on here I was contemplating buying a generic hose hit the low side and replacing that. But when I looked under and saw that drip I assumed that maybe it was coming from somewhere else.

In theory you can change the outer most gland nut seal ( without removing the rack ) as your open boot may have let dirt in to effect the seal

Someone ( 944play ) with the V - 12 went through sourcing the proper boots if yours can't be salvaged

Yeah it's seems dry up top. It was pretty gunked up but i wiped down the hoses and their doesn't appear to be a fresh leak from the reservoir hoses. I took a closer look at the boot and there's a good amount of fluid in there. So it does appear that is the source of the leak. There's a couple of good youtube videos on rebuilding them so I'll have to check that out. Thanks again for your input.

You can clear the boot and see if it fills back up after correcting the under reservoir
