Default Preferred parts suppliers?

I am looking at a '96 XJ6 tomorrow that is supposed to be in good/excellent condition but I am expecting something less than that.

I've looked but can't seem to find many Jaguar parts suppliers online. Can anyone point me to some? I intend to do some work myself so I'd like to know what some parts costs are. I know Rock Auto has a few parts but they are limited. And, there is JaguarParts.com. But, are there more?

Hmm. Was hoping there were specialists that dealt mainly/only with lots of Jaguar parts. For example, Pelican Parts carries virtually anything you could want for Porsche. I don't want to have to go to the dealer if I can avoid it.

You have many good choices. Coventry West, Welsh Jaguar, Motorcars Ltd, XKs Unlimited, SNG Barett, Pauls Jaguar. Those are just off the top of my head.

I've used Coventry West as my primary supplier for many years. Good service.

Cheers

+1 to Doug's list

These supplier names come up regularly on the forum with US members.

For high cost items I always check the dealer price first to ball park unit cost and then see if it's available elsewhere at lower cost. Never just assume aftermarket is always the lowest cost option.

Hope the XJ6 exceeds your expectations.

Graham

I have had great luck with car-stuff.com and if you can wait a couple of days for the parts advance auto parts isn't bad in store

Thanks guys! I actually live not far from Welsh and have been there before for my father's XJS. I hadn't heard of some of the others so that will get me off to a good start.

I'll be starting off just looking for oil filters, plugs, air filter, etc. but I am sure I will need some harder to find parts sooner or later.

Amsoil is another one. They don't just sell oil, but filters, sparks plugs and even wiper blades. They carry Mann and Wix products.

I actually just received an order from them: engine flush, air filter, several oil filters. Love ordering car parts in my jammies at midnight.

PartsGeek, RockAuto, Motorcarsltd, jagBits, coventrywest, and also this new place I just found named junkyarddog which is a parts locater has been very successful for finding the rarer parts. Kind of like a kayak.com or travelocity for parts if you will.
