Default Premium Audio Spec question...

Ok, so like a lot of folks, my 1996 VDP My woofer is blown (and not in the good way).

Does anyone know what the wattage dedicated to the woofer channel is? I'd like to make the most simple swap possible, but figured that would be good information to have.

More importantly, I think you'd need the ohm rating of the speaker to avoid blowing the amp!

The woofer is an odd size, so many here have repaired it with glue. Sometimes thats not possible. In my case, the rubber surround was still good, and the rattle was cured with new mounting screws. There should be lots of results come up with a search.

The rear seat must be removed to access the shelf and woofer mountings. Tedious, but not too difficult.

My intention is to drop a tube or other enclosed speaker into the trunk. I just need to know the details to drop the right speaker in there.

I have the same problem with mine. I think while the car is in storage for the winter, I will remove it and have it taken to a local shop who re cones them. I do know that getting to the speaker is not the most difficult but is a bit time consuming as you need to remove the rear seat to get to the rear deck. You must be careful not to break any trim bits as they are old and brittle. Once I get to mine, I will take some pictures and send them for viewing. I think I will install the sun shade while the deck lid is off too.
