Question about U-Joints

Question about U-Joints
Ordered a couple U- Joints from a reputable online parts dealer. From what I understand the part number for the drive/propellershaft is JLM11718. I received a GKNLobro U-Joints part# 18110. Now I understand GKN is the oem manufacturer and part numbers can vary between brands, but this one has a grease fitting which makes me a little suspicious that this may not be the correct part.
Has anyone seen or used this u-joint on the x300? Anyone know if the gkn part number is the same or different from the oe part number? The reason I ask is I can't have my car apart while I wait for the right one to come in if it is wrong. Emailed the company, waiting for a response.

Actually, I *think* Jaguar used Dana-Spicer UJs, but that's not important.
It's common for UJ manufacturers to offer both "with" and "without" grease fittings. Whoever you bought from decided to sell the "with" version. Most people prefer the "with" type, but not all.
I wouldn't give it a second thought.
But....
When you get the old ones out DO compare the size/heft of the "X" section of the UJs. Some vendors/distributors catalog and a UJ that fits perfectly well but isn't as stout as the ones Jaguar originally specified.
Cheers

Oh okay. I like the fact there are grease fittings and the center portion does look pretty robust.
I assumed GKN were oem because I bought it and the vendor claimed they were oem, but then I received the center support bearing today that they claim is an oem part and it's made by "MTC" made in Taiwan. Never heard of them. I guess it's time to finally take a look at the thread with the list of oem manufacturers. Than again maybe the oem manufacturer changed since it is an old vehicle?

Yeah, suppliers throw "OEM" around in a *****-nilly fashion. The term OEM has become "....as empty as a campaign promise" (Tip of hat to my Mom for that)
If a parts looks, fits, and operates like the original...and is of equal quality...it might be a perfectly good part. But it unless it the *same* part as Jaguar originally used, and from the *same* manufacturer, it ain't "OEM".
But you already know that!
Cheers
