Radio security code for Australian spec X300?
I'm interested to know if any owner of an Aus /NZ spec X300 has found that their radio has a security code?
I understand they were not coded for our market, but there seems to be doubt suggesting that some might at have been. I have no code details for my '97 3.2 and disconnecting the battery makes me nervous in case I can't get the radio back up again!
Thanks,
Tony

Mine did not need one.
The fact your battery is very doubtful to still be the original, I would suggest it is a none event with yours also.
I doubt Jaguar Australia will have records, but probably worth a call.

Reasonable assumptions Grant, especially about any previous change of battery. Also encouraging to hear yours didn't need a code. Just trying to do a risk assessment really, but I'll have to chance it anyway. I didn't intend to bother with Jag in Aus, the cars were built in the UK so I'll go to the source if I get in a mess.
Jag Aust should have records for all cars sold in Aust, but the fiasco over the last 20+ years with dealers and import agents has it in a mess. I found this when I worked for them 10+ years ago.
I changed the head unit on mine, as the CD and it never talked, and someone else wanted my CD changer, so a $140 Pioneer with front USB sits there now, and suits me fine.
