Default rear hub and output shaft bearings - want alternative part numbers

These numbers were posted in another thread:

output shaft bearings: Napa (SKF) 6207-J
output shaft seal: Napa SKF Oil Seal number 18662

can anyone fill in the following:

output shaft o-ring

fulcrum bearings

rear hub inner bearing
rear hub outer bearing
rear hub inner seal
rear hub outer seal

The parts can easily be found in JEPC, but the thrifty side of me pales
at the prices.

Hi Plums,

Enter your car info at this website and SKF will fill in most of the blanks for you:

SKF Online Parts Catalog

And this cross-reference is sometimes handy:

http://www.skf.com/binary/79-66347/457013.pdf

The Timken part finder is here:

http://www.showmetheparts.com/timken/

Using the kit numbers will typically get you all the parts you need. I seem to recall that neither SKF nor Timken list some oil seals or the diff output shaft collar separately. You can shop around industrial suppliers and industrial bearing suppliers, but they often make it difficult to match SKF's & Timken's numbers directly. I've always found Coventry West to be competitive on price and they usually have the kits in stock. I assume the same is true for SNG Barratt, Jagbits and Welsh Enterprises, who offer discounts to forum members.

Cheers,

Don

Thanks for the links.

The SKF cross-reference seems to be much more
complete than the Timken cross-reference.

The SKF partfinder is a showmetheparts.com application.
Very buggy, but it yielded a few numbers after changing
browsers.

Copy/paste won't work from that site. But a screenshot
with my additions is attached.

Further input welcome!

Hey Plums, I recently did all four corners, though didn't mess with the fulcrum bearings.

I belatedly realized I was missing a couple of races, which I obtained from Amazon:
Amazon.com: Timken LM503310 Wheel Bearing: Automotive Amazon.com: Timken LM503310 Wheel Bearing: Automotive

Otherwise, I used these from RockAuto.com:

CENTRIC41720003 (417.20003)Wheel Seal$ 1.83$ 0.002$ 3.66
TIMKENSET45Wheel Bearing$ 9.03$ 0.002$ 18.06
TIMKENLM503349AWheel Bearing$ 10.91$ 0.002$ 21.82
TIMKENSET8Wheel Bearing$ 4.90$ 0.002$ 9.80
TIMKENSET17Wheel Bearing$ 5.78$ 0.002$ 11.56
BECK/ARNLEY0523740 (052-3740)Wheel Seal$ 7.02$ 0.002$ 14.04

Thumbs up thanks!

That pretty much completes the list for future reference.

Thanks for taking the time to copy all of that over.

This rear suspension is going to nickel and dime me
to death though

A couple of bushings here, a few bearings there ...
and that's on top of the Auburn posi. Looks like
the posi was just the tip of the iceberg.

That rear subframe assembly has a lot of parts!

Plums - the SKC bearing for a X-308 XJR - differential output shaft?
My bearing is not bad but leaking. Can I just change the o-ring? I cant find where it goes in my shopmanual - behind the circle clip which has to back on before the bearing. Can I reused the circle clip and squeeze the o-ring over the end of the shaft?

There was a discussion last week in the x308 section about this job.

There are links in there to various descriptions and photos of the job
showing procedures, seals, etc.

I too need to do this job. I didn't see any part number for the o-ring in the rest of the thread. Also, should there be a bearing retainer collar in the output shaft rebuild?

I personally would not go cheap on the bearing and go with SKF or Timken , Ebay beware

Started a pdf doc on it below a few months back :

https://www.jaguarclassicparts.com/u...ponents-normal

Question if there is a difference on normal vs, limited slip differential as I haven't checked

Yes, this is exactly what i was going to do. I'm buying the SKF bearings and seals, just need to know the part numbers for the o-ring and retaining collar.

Oops, didn't see your pdf. Part numbers were there. Thanks for that.

Here is a complete list if parts to do the output shaft seals on both sides.

2 O-Rings: part number JLM621

2 Collars: part number JLM615

2 output shaft bearings: SKF 6207-J

2 output shaft seals: SKF 18662
