Recommendation for an X300 friendly OBD2 code reader?
My X300 just died twice upon starting before finally starting and running as usual. I'm thinking it would be cool to look at the codes, such as they may be, to try and understand what happened.
Does anyone have a recommendation for an X300 friendly OBD2 code reader?
Thanks in advance,
Rhett

Similar to Knealy2 - except a Bluetooth ELM 327 adapter and TorquePro for Android. If you fancy reading chassis codes; you'll need to up the ante a bit - Autoenginuity with Jaguar module - several hundred dollars vs. maybe $30 or so for an adapter and app, assuming you already have the phone.

Similar to some of the others, I use an ELM 327 wifi adaptor and OBD Fusion for my iPad and iPhone. I believe it is quite similar to the Torque app for Android. It allows me to read codes and reset the CEL but i use it the most to read live data to gauge engine performance and help troubleshoot.
This is more useful on the 95MY as it seems to almost never throw a trouble code!!
The displays are configurable and allow you to graph data as well. Here are a couple of examples

I have both USB and wifi ELM interface. Use laptop, iOS and Android. Got lot's of different apps, but they seem to do about the same.
My personal favorite is OBD Fusion on wifi/iOS, the same as AllanG uses. TouchScan is the name for the same software on pc and Android, but the name was taken by the time the app was ready for iOS, hence the "OBD Fusion" name I used this app to troubleshoot a very complicated TPS turning bad and it is also great for adjusting the throttle cable, so you can see when it is too tight and the TPS starts moving.

That's not a surprise, but probably a disappointment. I always thought that both 1995 and 1996 model year engines would be equally OBD2 compliant, but it seems that Jaguar really didn't have it all finished. I think you have a kind-of compliant OBD2 car. You can certainly try another program, but I doubt you'll have a better experience.
I use OBD2 Fusion for my 1996 AJ16 car, and I get more that what you're getting. I am also using the ELM27 connector. The best I could recommend is to try someone else's ELM27, if you know anyone that has it, or try someone else's OBD2 reader before spending any more money.
