Hi
Ive seen many threads on how to remove the Drivers door switch panel, to replace or repair the dreaded wing mirror switch. Some of these are conflicting, so can someone point me to a good instruction thread. I have got as far as removing the coin pocket and releasing the screw behind it, revealing that the panel is held on by 2 screws through the panel and armrest. So the door panel will have to come off!
Having done that, I cannot find out whether the mirror switch can be removed on its own, so as not to require a complete panel, and being LHD I could use a LHD panel, and I also have the memory panel in mine! And/Or perhaps I can fix the switch, but it has fallen inside so I can’t see what to fix.
Any help appreciated

Welcome to the forum. The "Stickies" are your friend. Although, if your computer is largely just displaying some link gibberish, like mine for most of the stickies, with an occasional clear title thrown in, you may have trouble finding what you are looking for. In this case, I knew where to look: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-panels-52150/
To get the switchpack out you have to take the door panel off and then also remove the door panel side pocket. Take pix when you do it so you can replace the screws in the correct position.
See my pix attached taken when I replaced all door speakers.
Cheers
Jeff.
Back of RHD front door panel. Back of RHD front door pocket.
This is good to see. I have a sticky memory button which I need to get to.
I think the previous owner spilled something around there and the button sometimes gets stuck down.
Once you get the switchpack out it is straight forward to take it apart and clean things up. There are a couple of screws on the underside which may be covered with security stickers but that's it.
Hi
Thanks for the info. But the big question is, when I have the divers switch panel out, can I take it apart? Is it one piece or can it be separated and perhaps replace just the broken mirror switch, or even fix the old one? As mine is LHD and had the seat memory switches, it’s not so easy to find. Everything else on the panel functions fine!

I had the same problem with my switchpack, everything worked fine except the mirror controller.
As I mentioned earlier there are a couple of screws on the underside which may be covered by stickers and each end of the unit has a clip like arrangement but it’s easy to take apart.
There is a printed circuit board with metal contact points on it. I cleaned the whole lot using contact cleaner and cotton buds, I also cleaned the rubber contact pads. When I put it all together all was good.
Before you reassemble the door test the switchpack by plugging it in and if all is good put it all together.
I think I just made this my next little project. It's always better to go in with some knowledge, thank you all for the details.
I have already had the door panels out to change the speakers, so I'm hoping it's just a cleanup job.
This was one of my first Jobs when I first purchased my X300. in my case, my RHD mirror control button/leaver had been snapped off. I purchased 2 second-hand switch packs and to replaced it. The first one I purchased from The USA in my eagerness, not thinking about the LHD issue so had to purchase a 2nd and still have a spare I can never use. To be honest, I could have just jammed any kind of appropriate looking lever in the hole where the original had been and the mirror would have been operable, but I was hell-bent on having everything perfect. there are some great step by step tutorials around and I will only add that there is a white bracket sitting in the door frame that has to be lifted vertically up before pulling the door panel off, You can see it on earlier pictures shared or towards the bottom of this one
Addisonly, Id also advise having some spare door clips on hand as I also managed to snap a couple getting the pannel off
