Retrofit memory seats on xj6?
I would like to fit a "top of the range" driver's seat with 2 memory positions to replace the conventional one that I am now using...
I share the car with my wife (she shares it with me actually...) and am sick of having to play around with the position of the seat every time I use it.
Has anyone done this and is it a plug and play or do the ones with memory use some sort of independent ecu/electronic system?
Cheers,
Miq.

You'll need the "memory" module (fits under the seat), the door switchpack, the adjuster potentiometers, and lord knows what else.
The system interfaces with the electric steering column adjusters. Not sure what, if any, problems might arise there.
Buying and entire used memory-type seat assembly might a workable option but finding one where the memory feature still functions properly will be hit-n-miss, at best. The system is notoriously flakey.
I'm sure it's doable if you want it badly enough.
Others will chime in.
Cheers

+1 on Doug's pointers. You might also need a wiring harness as the wiring diagram shows the memory wires are not connected from the door switch pack to the memory module.
It might be a lot of work and/or cost and to be honest this system is one of the worst on the car for reliability. You will probably find few cars which have this feature working correctly all of the time.
