Default SLCM/Sunroof/central locking / IMMOBILISED

OK folks, let's see who can explain this one

Had to replace body processor module month or four back as I
must have blown it while trying to jump start car (1995 x300)
but since then central locking has not worked, light on above
key sign around air con, boot switch not working

So I reckons must be SLCM so bought replacement, tried fitting
today and car immobilised - no 'check engine' light, but 'peep'
when battery reconnected so reckon security system possibly
thinkin about things, but as immobilised, no go

So, back goes in original SLCM, car starts, hit 'key sign'
button in frustration, whiring noise from above that won't stop
until battery disconnected!

Battery reconnected, and back to state at start of post

I'm now starting to think that the SLCM and that damned light
indicate that the car thinks the sunroof is still open and
hence will not lock with the remotes - if I hit the lock button
a second time the lights still come on so signal being received

So, given that the sunroof gave up on me a while back (had to
be closed with big screwdriver after opening part of way up
while parking in downpour - fun it was not).....

How do I (a) get sunroof to be ignored by slcm and hopefully
get central locking working?

(b) get the 'new' slcm' to work and not immobilise car?

(c) get the boot button working again? It's a pain having to
use key each time!

Not asking a lot, am I?

cheers folks

chris
