It looks like they are under the intake manifold. I just got mine and was scratching my head over it too.

Remove the cover on the top of the engine that says "Jaguar" on it and you'll see the coils. Under each coil is a spark plug. Unplug the coil, remove the two bolts, and wriggle it off the spark plug. Repeat 5 more times :-)

Cheers

Default sparkplugs

took my plugs out, and they looked pretty good. but the gap was .031. i think it calls for .035 gap. so i gapped them to .035. will i see a difference?

I bet not, but gapping to the correct setting is still good for optimum performance.

Make sure you use Champion RC9YCCs. Yes, gaps are 0.035 inch (0.09mm).

actually rc12's are now being used in place of the rc9's per Jaguar recommendation. I just did my tuneup using the 12's (12's came out of mine as well)..and she runs like a top

I thought they were only for those having idle issues. (except blower cars, where they're standard?)

Possibly, but I have access to Alldatapro and under the TSB it says it applies to all cars, not just those with idle issues. So if you were to go to a Jag dealer to have the tuneup done, I am 99% positive they would throw the rc12's in the car even if rc9's came out. But hey if rc9's work fine for you there is no need to change them (but why not use the 12's? They're the same exact price). With my discount at work (I work for an auto parts store) I got 6 plugs for 9 bucks and change including tax. Champions are dirt cheap and I'm so glad old british cars love them

Nor have I. Finger pressure only on the ratchet until they're seated then about 1/8 turn more, I reckon. Ten ft/lbs maybe?

Cheers

I also use the 'Doug' method. Always have done.

I guess that we are all doing this incorrectly.

The only info I could quickly find was in a Haynes for a 94 so you might want to do some checking yourself.

17 - 21 lbf/ft

In the wrist, you have 'T', 'BT', and 'VBT' and you get a feel for them. I suppose it might be an exercise to retro check these against a torque wrench.

Of course head bolts = torque wrench.
