Supercharger rebuild needed after lower pulley upgade
As the titles says, after purchasing and installing an upgaded lower pulley, my supercharger decided to give up on me. It now needs a rebuild.
I've been looking around for shops that offer rebuilds and porting services but also looking at options in doing the rebuild myself. But it looks like the Jaguar M90 supercharger is a bit different than other "M90" superchargers.
My question is... would the basic/more common M90 rebuild kit be the same for the x300 supercharger?
There are all these options on eBay.

I think its just the snout that is shorter than the M90 on the Vee engines (GM 3800, etc)
There are bearing kits out there
the silly bit of the design as I see it (non-engineer) is the rear needle bearings are open and run in grease, with no way to lube other than pulling apart! Daft, me thinks.
My M90, at 90000 km, had slight play in the rear needle bearings. It may have done a higher mileage and been 'wound' in Japan prior to import to NZ - I will never know.
I found a new old stock XJR M90 blower on ebay USA recently - you might be lucky if you look, but a rebuild is pretty simple and would be cheaper

I've been looking at rebuild options but a lot of them are around $600-$800. But are those places using just the bearing kits I'm able to purchase online?
What was your reason for having it rebuilt? For me, it was because at any revs higher than 2500 I can hear a rattling noise towards the rear of the supercharger. Which makes me think it's the rear bearings that have gone bad. Since I'm positive it's never been rebuilt since the car was new.

The front ball bearing races were all fine; the play was a barely-felt jiggle at the rear needle bearings, but enough to cause a rattle.
Did you get yours rebuilt or did you just install the "old new" one?
