Throttle position sensor
Had two codes
p0122 Throttle Position Sensor/Switch 'A' Circuit Low Input
P0177 Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Range/Performance
The Throttle one is easy its just a matter of replacing a part
obviously the throttle position sensor.
But where I thought it should be located it isnt and I cant see it elsewhere???
does anyone have any idea where it goes
I have 14 days to figure it out if I need to return it on ebay
Thanks
Chris

Chris:
Code Po177 is "Adaptive fuel metering trim too rich" on a Jaguar X-300. There is, in fact, no "Fuel Composition Sensor" which is, I believe used on E-85 cars.
And, sorry to say, changing the TPS is not just a matter of replacing a part. You might luck out, and the new one be within range of the old one, but the calibration procedure requires using dealer level software. It goes opposite the throttle cable connection side of the throttle body, under the TB.
It might help if you gave your location in your info, since it helps both IDing the car and recommendations for repair. I assume you are in the UK or OZ, since the X-300 did not have a 1994 year designation in the US!

Ok, from the VIN, it looks like you have a X-300 manufactured early on, probably in 1994, BUT that is referred to as a MY 1995 in North America. The TPS for a X-300 looks like this and apparently the one in your picture is for a MY 91 through MY 94

Not trying to be a wise ***, but I don't know if you need to change it or not. The going rate for a X-300 TPS is nearly $300. I might try and test the one I had see if I could identify a bad place in the feedback. Did you reset the codes and see if they come back? Are there any drivability symptoms? Do you know someone with dealer level software to reset the TPS calibration, if it needs that?
