Default This transmission flush method ok?

Do you think this is possible on the 95-97 xj6 transmission system? I have not looked at the hoses under the hood to find the transmission feed to the cooler to see how its connected. In short, the guy in the video:

1) Drains the transmission pan using the drain plug, tops off with new fluid.
2) Disconnects the transmission fluid feed to the transmission cooler.
3) Fits a rubber hose from the line feeding the cooler into a bucket.
4) With the cooler bypassed, starts the car and tops off the transmission pan with new fluid as the transmission pumps the remaining old fluid into the bucket (that which would normally be pumped into the cooler).
5) Continues until the fluid pumped into the bucket is the new fluid from the pan.

here is the video:

Any reason not to do this method?

Thanks

Haven't watched the vid yet, but I perform a similar fluid renewal on my Excursion.
On my X300, I just drain it at the plug and replace the 3 qts or so that drain out and do that across about 3 or 4 consecutive engine oil changes. Didn't see an easily-removeable cooler line under there anywhere.

I concur with the "drain and replace" versus "flush" concept. A LOT easier to do, and as long as you do it frequently enough, there's probably not a real advantage to doing a flush, versus drain and replace.
