Been a busy weekend, have the instrument cluster out for some repair, repairing the "jewel" lenses in the front & rear foglight switches, along with a host of other minor tasks which includes removing the ancient K40 hidden front & rear radar detector system.

While tracking down the various wiring from the K40, I noticed one unused connector in the dash that I was curious about, and also found where the installers 17 years ago pulled switched power from under the console.

In both cases, I'm curious what they are, the connector and wires.

So I've attached a couple photos.

A) I'm curious what accessory/option the unused connector in the dash is for. I assume it is spare for some option my XJR doesn't have.

B) I'm then curious what the black/green wire pair were for under the console that the installers used to get switched power. I assume these two wires are also spares for some option not used on my XJR.

 

I'm sorry, I can't answer your question as I have no idea. But I was wondering if you can tell me where the front k40 radar detector was installed on your vehicle. I found the rear one in mine but cannot find the front for the life of me. I'm getting the beep for front sensor inop. So i'm assuming it is missing. Not to impose, but if you are willing to sell the front sensors I'd consider buying it. But I would suggest if you plan on selling it to sell it all together.

 

Hi, the front sensor was bolted right up under the front bumper immediately to the right of where a front license plate would be mounted. In my case you really couldn't miss it.
