Spring " Creep " effecting elastic K constant and not unloaded spring length

only thing you can do to prevent is spring coating environmental protection which has been provided.

Swapped out an outer tie rod end up from (track rod end for those across the pond). Bit of a pain with the brake caliper overhanging the top nut, with no room to swing a hammer or fit a torque wrench. Got there eventually with a pickle fork to extract and a wrench to install; just hope I tightened it enough.

Replaced that little annoying plastic trim that is almost always broken and never fits properly that sits between ski slope and ashtray with a piece of T channel rubber cut to size. Think I've paid £2.50 for a meter of it and a used plastic trim was £30? Fits much better, looks like it was always there, it will not come out and should keep the crumbs away. Happy days!

@cdma having seen Red in person and how much effort you have put into it/her over the years, I can only imagine that the sale is mixed with sadness (just the list of things I know you have done to it is... impressive) and joy (you get a new car that is practically perfect in every way). Will be sad to see Red go, and lose you to a different forum here

If I were a rich man, I would buy the car and ALL THE SPARE PARTS!

My son got me some Liquid Glass about a year ago, and Ruby Tuesday finally has four solid coats on her... might be placebo effect, but it surely does make that Carnival Red pop!

I have received a lot of interest and have someone in El Paso is very interested after I lowered the price; he asked many questions about it and may come up and see it. Here is part of the response I gave him. " I truly feel that I am marrying off my daughter. I love this car and truly enjoy driving it, and I will be sad to see her go. However, it is time for someone else to enjoy her." For those that want to see all her glory My Car.......Not sure if this is allowed I guess we will see

The link worked for me - hope it stays! Will check with both of my sons to assess their interest in buying it Would be a great cross-post on Hemmings or Bring a Trailer if you have the energy.

I put nothing but Ceramic on my car and have been doing it for a long time and seems to do the trick.

well, been a little while since i have done much,
been busy with life.
got a little time today and decided to install a 12v outlet in my boot.
the idea came to me when i wanted to vacuum my boot.
so here we go.

it matches with the one i installed under my bonnet a while back.

finally after a few attempts got my lumbar pumps repaired.
both were leaking. they were filling but slowly deflating over time.

so at first i snipped the end off the hose where it was cracked, wrapped some silicone repair tape around it to help reinforce it, and used some rubber cement when i put it back on.

i thought this worked,
but it did not.
so i then found that one pump was leaking where the valve attached to the motor, attempted to repair it with some epoxy,
it seemed to hold for a while but then began to deflate again.

so i purchased a spare.
it seemed to also fill but then slowly leak.

so finally i attempted again, over the course of a week i have siliconed up the leaks on 2 pumps.
one was only 2 spots near the valve and one has a fair chunk of silicone on it now. it seemed i patched one hole and another started.
so i inflated the bladder, quickly put the pump in water (not connected of course and looked for the bubbles where it was leaking, put some silicone and then waited 2 days and tested again, and siliconed over the new leak.
first major leak is where i have circled in the image, (where valve attaches to body)
and then the three arrows point to other points of issue. (circular part of valve, somewhere at the bottom of valve near pressure switch, and then it cracked where the frame screws to attach the motor.)
i then wrapped elec tape over the main body to make it look a little tidier
it doesn't look great but finally it works.
it styed inflated now for over a day with no leakage.
the other one did not require so much repair.
now i have two repaired. time to repair the spare incase i ever need it.

Lumbar pumps are holding up really well now a couple weeks down the track. So thats great.

been repairing a rear centre console extension piece however realised it will not fit the swb with standard rear seat so am currently starting the modification to cut it down to size.

blended the edges of the patch i used to repair my front seat and recoloured it to make it less obvious. Still not perfect but not bad all the same. And good enough until the whole seat is recovered later. To make it better would be lots more leather filler, sand, leather filler, sand but all the products i have are working well.
the leather colour and the sealer is nice.

but most importantly upgraded boot badges to x308 grey ones. Some slight damage on these ones but certainly good enough.
will buy some brand new ones for when the car is resprayed (think they are still available just hard to find)

Replaced upper shock bushings after noticing the left side completely disintegrated and the right side not far behind. Only to find the lower bushing on the left side is bad too. But it’s ok. It gives me a chance to make another entry onto this thread again later.

also, you may have noticed that there is a street directory for my city in the drivers seat pocket and a road atlas for my country in my passengers seat pocket.
YES. they are both the 1995 editions......
and my car is a 1995 Build....
