What type of bulb in headlight "city light"

I'm keen to upgrade my stock headlight bulbs and would prefer a whiter "xenon" look.
Has anyone tried Phillips X-treme vision, or Osram Night Breaker H1 - 448 series?
These manufacturers also have matching H3 - 453 series for the fog lights and W5W's for the side lights.
I've looked at Powerbulbs online and user reviews are pretty good for all of these. They are mighty expensive compared with the Amazon offerings, but they are designated for the car and model, whereas the above series numbers under H1 and H3 aren't mentioned on the Amazon ones.
