Just purchased a 97' XJ6 and have high speed and intermittent for the wipers but no low speed. Is it the motor, column switch, or is there a module/relay somewhere?

Any help will be appreciated!

 

Can't say for sure without proper testing of the components but my money, if going on a hunch, is on the wiper switch. I replaced mine, but for a different reason (wasn't sending pwr to the washer pump). They're not very robust and unfortunately are quite expensive...around $400 new and $180 junk yard

 

Thanks so much for the reply. Did some additional research and some seem to think it may also be the relays. I am going to replace those first and go from there. Only things left would be switch & motor and as you know, the most expensive.

 

I'd probably rule out the motor, if the motor was bad, your wipers wouldn't work at all

 

Thanks again, I should have the relays this week and hopefully I find the fix. Could certainly be the stalk mounted switch but I am betting on one of the relays...
