if the rack was damaged, perhaps,
but sounds to me like you just need an alignment

well what I am getting at is this... I had a rebuilt rack and power steering pump put in my car, then had a alingnment done at a professional place with all the previous specs and current specs printed out, come a few days noticed the car was turning to the right quite quickly, and my rebuilt power steering pump was leaking, now I just had another pump put in that isnt leaking and the steering feels much better, my my alingnment is still way off, what do you think?

did you have it re-aligned?

and also only the dealer can do proper alignments,
there is a special tool used to simulate loaded suspension that not many shops have

The suspensions don't need to be loaded to do a proper alignment. Any good front end shop will do just fine. The rack shouldn't cause a pull unless it's binding. I think you would feel that more than notice a pull to one direction or the other. Any chance you caught a pothole or something?

X'S 2, and the only corrected specs from jaguar are 03 and up Stype(although I dont like the specs on the 04 and up XJ's either) and this is only toe setting in front.

Doesn't the X300 have a variable ratio rack ? Don't ask me how this is done, but clearly when installing a new rack and connecting the steering column, it has to be centralised first so the variability starts equally when on left or right steering. There may be a small plug on the rack to insert a centering tool, (normally a little rod about 1/4" diameter that fits into a drilling on the rack. Please can others more knowledgeable say whether I'm talking nonsense or not, please.

Variable steering ratios are nothing new, I had a Marles Varamatic steering box on a '76 Rover V8 I ran around in in the mid-eighties.

Other thing is to ensure a 4-wheel laser alignment system was used (first set all wheels in line, then set the toe-in)

The pump has no influence on the alignment.

^^^^ yes it does and ide hope theyre not morons, cause that exactly why it has a locking pin you break by turning the wheel after installed

I just noticed that my alingment has gotten better since I just did a rotation to my tires and a balance as well. dont ask me how it helped but it sure did.
