Default x300 strange alarm / door locking issue

This seems like a new issue, however when I go to arm and lock the car either with the key or the remote, the alarm beeps once, the doors lock, then they unlock, lock, unlock, and lock once again. The alarm remains on and all is ok, I just don't understand that all the locking and unlocking is all about. When I am in the car, I can push down on the door lock, and it locks all the doors and stays locked, so it has to be related to the alarm. Any ideas?

What about the battery, is it fully charged? That's the first thing that comes to my mind.... I did have some weird problems with central locking when battery got a bit low.

It is a brand new battery, and fully charged.

Actually just figured it out, there was some resistance on the right front door lock, the plunger would not go down as it should have so I'm guessing the multiple lock and unlocking cycles were an attempt to free it up. Regardless, all is good now...with this issue. Thanks!!!

Jolly good! At least it wasn't anything too serious! So, I'm guessing you have some more issues?...

Haha, yes! I recently posted something regarding my cooling fans, as they come on when the key is in the on position regardless of climate control settings. Did some research on this and found out that some of the ex 300 cars were wired this way and someone not, there is apparently a bulletin out there explaining how to put the car back to "normal" . I would really like to know how to do this

my jaguar xj 300 executive 1996 3.2 will not lock on fob, and if i leave it overnight it will not start at all. I can get it started if i disconnect the battery and leave it for 30 minutes and reconnect. is this a fault on the immobiliser or is it fuse related.????
many thanks Dave....
