Smile X300 type of power steering fluid

I am in the process of changing the power steering fluid. It has been recommended the I use synthetic fluid. The only synthetic I can find is Valvoline ATF Dexron-VI Full Synthetic. Does any one see a problem with using automatic fluid in the power steering system? I have not used synthetic in the system before. Any one see a problem with mixing the types until I am able to get a complete change?

Thanks guys.

No problems at all.

After about 5 syringe out and refills over, say a week, the concentration will be sweet.

I use Synthetic ATF in all mine, always have.

Thanks Grant. I'll do that on a regular basis in the future.

The ZF power steering system in the car uses DEXRON ATF from the factory.
Some of the the XJ40 used HSMO and the 2000 S-Type (ESSO 998 for the Ford rack) were the only recent Jaguars to use something else in the PAS system.

I'd use what Grant used.

Thanks Bob.

I had to hunt down that S Type fluid for the Black Beast, and down here it was a PAIN, but all good now. I suspect it had ATF in it, as it was juddery when first owned by me, now sweet as, and it took 8 suck and refills without going too low and getting air in the damn thing, HA.

Now I typed that I might just give it another suck and refill tomorrow morning, coz I can.

My minor then later tremendous return line leak last year helped me fully flush mine out over a few months

I used Valvoline Dexron 6 synthetic ATF because that's what I had. Worked fine.

Although it is possible, I doubt the steering pump and rack has the same potential sensitivity to the difference between Dexron 4 and 6 as a transmission might.
