Default X300 welding - carpet removal

Hi, new to the forum and looking for a little advice please.

I've just had the misfortune of my x300 failing its MOT due to what he said was excessive corrosion on both n/s and o/s floor areas by the seat belt anchorage areas, also what was described on the VT30 as swelling to the suspension component mountings (again both sides).
The owner of the garage who I know has already given me a quote of £120 providing I remove carpets, wiring, etc. I'm guessing this is a fair quote due to the weld required and i'm looking for advise from anyone who has had any experience removing the carpets/wiring to these areas so that I can reach the 10 day deadline before a re-charge.
Can anyone suggest the best way to start - locations of anything to watch for, etc?

Regards, Cj

Default Update

Just removed the carpet following the advise from a guy on another forum who has come to my aid in the past.

Its a fairly straight forward job and the most important bit of advise I would give anyone considering the same would be not to skip steps taking time ensuring no corners are cut (something I did at one stage and have paid for it). I'd be happy to draft up a detailed breakdown of what I did if it helps anyone else.

Cj.
