hello everyone, I own a 1996 XJ6 with 90,000 miles on it, and when I am come to a complete stop, like for example at a red light, and then the light turns green and I go, when going from 0mph until the gear is about to switch I feel a shake in the car and a thud in the steering wheel. I was told its the engine mounts, but have also heard its a hard shift and its something that I have to live with, but I didnt notice it until about maybe a few months ago, and it dosent do it any other times just from 0mph until the gear changes into 2nd, if anyone can help me please, thank you.

 

My first thought goes to the transmission mount....
